Antique Pair of 1920's Art Deco German Moch Mannequins
Very rare matching pair of male and female antique 1920’s art deco German youth mannequins.
Lovely art deco period style hand painted faces and hair. Beautiful 1920’s characterisation and styling. Make a very attractive and decorative period couple for display.
Offered with as found 1920’s style costumes.
The faces are both in excellent original painted condition, and the male also has perfect condition head & hair. The female has had an area of the front of her hair restored and re-painted. The bodies are in relatively good condition for 100 year old mannequins and present very attractively as complete figures.
The male has small areas on the body of repair plastering and repainting, and epoxy repair to one torso arm join. Both arms attach solidly. Small areas of repair on 3 or 4 fingers.
The female also has small areas of plaster repairs and re-painting to the body, and some epoxy repair to one arm join. Both arms attach solidly. One hand with minor repair to tips of 3 fingers, and the other hand with larger epoxy repair to side of hand and fingers.
Overall rare to find a matching pair of 1920’s mannequins without major loses, and they display very attractively with beautiful period hand painted heads.
Moch Figures - Köln Germany, were established in 1907, and are the oldest manufacturer’s of mannequins in Europe. They are still producing very high quality mannequins for fashion, retail, and museums.
